Artificial Intelligence Institute Co-Founder Richard Awni Selected as Keynote Speaker on AI's Impact on the Future of NIL

Keynote to Address How Artificial Intelligence Is Reshaping Name, Image, and Likeness Opportunities for Student-Athletes, Families, Brands, and Sports Professionals

The Artificial Intelligence Institute (AII) announced today that its Founder, Richard Awni, has been invited to serve as the keynote speaker at a special event focused on one of the fastest-evolving intersections in sports: the impact of Artificial Intelligence on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

The event is expected to bring together a full audience of student-athletes, parents, coaches, sports professionals, NIL representatives, brand leaders, and sports agents to explore how AI is transforming the future of athletic opportunity.

Awni’s keynote, “NIL and the Future Student-Athlete: How AI Is Changing Opportunity and Why Preparation Has Never Mattered More,” will examine how artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the way athletes are discovered, evaluated, matched with brands, and prepared for success both on and off the field.

“Artificial Intelligence is changing far more than technology,” said Richard Awni, Founder of the Artificial Intelligence Institute. “It is changing how opportunity is created. AI is rapidly becoming part of how brands identify athletes, evaluate authenticity, understand audiences, and build meaningful partnerships. Student-athletes who understand this new landscape and prepare for it will have a significant advantage.”

The presentation will explore topics including:

  • How AI is changing the NIL marketplace.

  • Why personal character and authentic branding matter more than ever.

  • How AI helps organizations discover athletes beyond traditional recruiting methods.

  • The growing importance of digital intelligence alongside athletic ability.

  • Practical guidance for families preparing for the future of collegiate athletics.

The keynote also reflects the Institute’s broader mission of preparing individuals to use AI responsibly and effectively.

The Artificial Intelligence Institute has become a recognized leader in ethical AI education and workforce readiness, recently launching one of the nation’s largest elementary AI-readiness initiatives, reaching students across 20 school sites. Through its research, educational programs, and public outreach, the Institute continues to help educators, families, organizations, and community leaders understand the real-world impact of artificial intelligence.

As NIL continues to evolve and AI increasingly influences recruiting, marketing, sponsorships, and athlete discovery, the Institute believes education and preparation will become as important as athletic performance itself.

“Talent may open the first door,” Awni said. “Character, preparation, and digital intelligence are what keep opening the rest.”

The Artificial Intelligence Institute is proud to contribute to this important national conversation and to help student-athletes, families, brands, and sports professionals better understand the future of opportunity in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
